To surf or not to surf

Marketing with traffic exchanges makes good sense for several reasons. 1. As your sites rotate on the surf they create hits which translate into activity for the Search Engines and 2. Members view your site. When you join a traffic x, whether as a free or paid member, it is very important to then surf.

Surfing is the life blood of any traffic exchange. It is very tempting to join a site, put all your credits up on your link and then run. This does no one any long lasting good, including you. You need to surf a little bit: daily is the best, weekly is still good, at least once a month.

No one expects you to marathon surf. We have contests for those competitive souls who enjoy the challenge. However, surfing 25 sites a day, 100 sites every couple days and etc does remarkable things!

For one, your surf rotates other members' sites. This creates hits which help boost traffic rankings. And, while YOU are surfing, other responsible memers are surfing as well...creating hits for YOUR sites. Plus, the are seeing them as they surf. Marketing studies all prove the average person needs to see an ad at least 7 times or so to respond. Having your site shown on a traffic exchange helps you in this regard.

You are an important part of an exchange and vital to the overall health. When you do your part to surf, everyone - including you - benefits greatly. In fact, when the entire membership is surfing, you benefit even more! Get a thousand or more members all surfing each day...whoa nelly and bar the door!

So, to surf or not to surf? That is a question only you can answer. Keep in mind that when you surf wonderful things happen. When you don't, a terrible thing happens. Nothing.

XtreamSurf Safe list announces membership changes

XtreamSurf Safe list has added a number of new “value-added” features and changed membership benefits to enhance the list and reward members for a job well done, according to Cherie Halliday, founder.
We are over 1900 active members after one great year on line and we wanted to reward our members and add incentives for everyone to promote.

To this end, the list is featuring free Pro for the next 30 days. You can upgrade to Premium for only $5.00 U.S.d or Executive for only $10.00 U.S.d. Premium members have access to an Ffa blaster, Executive members access to that plus a Search Engine Submitter.

All members now earn both commissions ranging from 10 to 25% on the paid subscription referrals in addition to the point rewards on all referrals. Payout requests are at a low $1 and are paid monthly.

XtreamSurf has also added a great tool that will check your email ads against the Spam filters! It is available in every member’s Main Member Area of the list.

In addition to XtreamSurf Safe list, one of their other venues - Xtream Safe list http://xtreamsafelist.msnethosting.com/list.php - list now has similar features and benefits as well. Xtream has around 800 active members. It was launched early 2005.

Traffic Exchanges. Increase your Search Engine and Alexa rankings:

Adding your sites to traffic exchanges is a great way to increase your Alexa rankings and improve your overall ratings in the search engines. Traffic sites rotate your links, which generate "hits." This is considered activity that is picked up by the SEes.

Also, adding your links is similar to link back. this is also picked up on by the SEs. Some programs, like those associated with XtreamNet, will also add your link to the exchange sometimes on the main or public page or in the members’ area. These links are also picked up by the SEs and can help your rankings as well.

Plus, members surf and view your ads and sites in ways safe lists, ffa and classified ad posts don't provide. As each member surfs the exchange, a site is shown on the rotator.
Marketing studies have shown that people need to see a site or ad or offer on average of 7 times before taking action.
Getting your site up and running on many exchanges can be a good strategy for you.

Many affiliate sites reward you for promoting their site, ie your referral link, with credits and sometimes cash. This makes traffic exchanges, sometimes called surf sites a good venue for most affiliate programs. Program owners rely on affiliates to help increase their traffic and search engine rankings, so adding your affiliate program to traffic sites is a win-win situation for everyone.

Now, if you choose this route, you also need to be active and participate in these programs!
The lifeblood of any exchange is the surf.
Sites which have active members who surf on a regular basis are healthy and sites are rotated, seen, and lots of hits generated for you and all members.

It is sometimes tempting to merely join a site, post your site with the credits awarded you and then simply vanish, never to return or participate in the site. In the long run, this is a very bad strategy. Exchanges only work when the members - all of them - surf. Without surf, sites do not get rotated. Without rotation, sites do not get seen - especially yours!

Surfing does not have to be an all consuming activity. A good strategy is to set up a couple of groups of sites, load a few onto your browser and then surf while accomplishing your other online activities like reading email, marketing, chatting and etc.
You can size your windows to view the sites as they rotate and still do other things.
This way, you contribute to the health of the exchanges, get your own sites seen by others and rotated generating hits, all the while doing the other things you need to do online.
